I finally got a break. I really need this. Well, we need this. I wanted to do something to help my family while I can’t be home right now, and scoring the RA position is the best thing I could do. The odds were ridiculously slim and I did it. Though, I’m pretty hesitant to feel proud of myself.

So many people who deserved the job didn’t get it, so I can’t help but try to hide my happiness, even though it’s a big deal and I should be glad. Honestly, it sucks. But I feel terrible for those who deserved it and didn’t get it.

I’m glad I can help lift some weight from my parent’s shoulders though. I’m so excited to see what it’s like to be an RA. I’m so damn lucky, and I know it. I’m definitely looking forward to next year already.
